Giulia Accardi joins Living Blue Zone as Ambassador in Italy | Sicily
It is with great pleasure that Living Blue Zone officially welcomes Giulia Accardi as Living Blue Zone Ambassador in Italy, based in Sicily.
Our meeting in Palermo, during our recent mission in Sicily around Blue Zones and longevity, quickly revealed a strong alignment: a shared vision around health, prevention, human nutrition, well-being, and the importance of creating environments that naturally support healthier ways of living.
Researcher at the Department of Biomedicine, Neuroscience and Advanced Diagnostics (BIND) at the University of Palermo, and specialist in Human Nutritional Science, Giulia is actively involved in research related to ageing, longevity and prevention. Her work focuses on healthy ageing and the factors that support a better quality of life throughout the life course, with a particular interest in human nutrition, immunology of ageing and longevity trajectories.
As Giulia herself shares:
βI strongly believe that the lifestyle of Blue Zones is the true key to well-being throughout the time we have in this world, and that as many people as possible should be aware of it. In my own small way, I promote this lifestyle every day, because I believe it is an act of care and respect towards others.β
Through this ambassador role, Giulia will contribute to the development of the Living Blue Zone network in Italy, with a particular focus on the connections between human nutrition, longevity, prevention, community and quality of life.
Sicily, rich in traditions, conviviality, human connection, and a strong relationship with food and territory, represents a particularly inspiring context in which to continue bringing to life the principles observed in Blue Zones.
We are delighted to count on her expertise, enthusiasm and commitment to help develop Living Blue Zone in Italy.
Welcome to this beautiful adventure, Giulia π
